After a beautiful bank holiday it feels like summer is truly on the way out. I don't know about you, but I've finally had to dig for my raincoat which hasn't seen action for months. With trips to Nyetimber and Ashling Park planned for the weekend I'm keeping my fingers crossed for an abrupt change in weather fortunes!

Sussex
Big news for the English wine and food scene. Wiston Estate's acclaimed restaurant, Chalk, has been recognized by the Michelin Guide as one of the 18 Best Vineyard Restaurants in the World. That's a huge honour, and it firmly places Chalk, and indeed Sussex, on the global culinary stage. If you want to experience the estate firsthand, Wiston is also offering exclusive Harvest Behind the Scenes Tours and special Top Drawer Tasting & Dinners this autumn.
Kent
Balfour Winery is offering 25% off their Sage’s Ortega 2023 until the end of September. The grape behind this unusual still white wine thrives in Kent's cool climate and is a fantastic option for anyone looking to try something different, with its vibrant pineapple and citrus notes. Shropshire
Hencote celebrated National Red Wine Day with the launch of their new Mark V red wine on Thursday, 28th August.
Essex
The team at Saffron Grange has just released a brand-new wine: their 2023 Blanc de Gris – “The Rebel”. This unique blend of Pinot Gris and Chardonnay is available now directly from the vineyard or their website. As harvest approaches in late September, they are looking for volunteers to help with grape picking. In the meantime, you can enjoy their final Friday Night Sundowner on Friday, 5th September, and the last Slowdown Sunday on Sunday, 31st August.
Surrey
A fascinating "Words & Wine with Bob Geldof" evening is coming to Chilworth Manor Vineyard on Thursday, 11th September, with limited tickets remaining. Following a spell of warm, sunny weather, the grapes are ripening beautifully, pointing to a potentially outstanding vintage this year. They're also inviting volunteers to help with picking, expected to begin in mid-September.
Norfolk
Flint Vineyard wines will be featured at a series of dining experiences at Wolterton Hall, including a cabaret on 17th October.
East Sussex
Any plans to visit Oslo soon? If so you'll be pleased to hear Busi Jacobsohn Wine Estate has announced their wines are now available at Mojo Restaurant in Holmestrand, just outside the Norwegian capital.
