West Street Vineyard operates a full-service restaurant and wine experience.

  • Opening Hours: Open Wednesday to Sunday from 9am to 5pm, with extended hours until 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays. The vineyard is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, except for Bank Holidays. Please check their website for current opening times and any seasonal changes.
  • Restaurant & Cafe: A 60-seater restaurant, known as "The Wine Barn," serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and afternoon tea, featuring fresh, local ingredients. There's also an automated wine wall for tastings. Enjoy views over the vineyard from the terrace.
  • Tours & Tastings: Wine tastings are available upon request and the vineyard hosts scheduled "Introduction to Wine" courses throughout the year, led by the vineyard owners.
  • Special Events: West Street Vineyard is a popular venue for weddings, offering bespoke experiences among the vines. They also host various private parties and events throughout the year.
  • Accommodation: There is no on-site accommodation at West Street Vineyard.
  • Dogs & Children: The vineyard has a relaxed, family-friendly ethos, making it suitable for children. Dogs are welcome, particularly for coffee during walks along the nearby Essex Way.

The Wine

West Street Vineyard cultivates 1.05 hectares of vines, producing a range of English wines including still white, sparkling white, still rosé, sparkling rosé, and still red wines. Their wines have garnered significant recognition, winning several awards, including silver medals in UK wine competitions and a bronze medal in the International Wine Challenge for their 2013 White wine.

The vineyard operates with a strong commitment to sustainability and eco-friendliness, which was a core principle in the establishment and design of their Wine Barn. They emphasize championing sustainable practices in their winemaking and in the sourcing of local food for their restaurant. West Street Vineyard also features its own winery, ensuring that the award-winning wines are produced directly from their estate-grown grapes.
