The Wine

The Grange is primarily known for producing exceptional English sparkling wines from its 30-acre Burges Field vineyard. They focus on the classic Champagne grape varieties: Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay, which thrive in the chalky Hampshire terroir. Their portfolio includes the Classic NV, the Vintage Rosé, and the acclaimed "White From Black," a Blanc de Noirs made entirely from Pinot Meunier.

The wines have garnered significant recognition. The Grange's Pink NV was awarded a platinum medal at the 2020 Decanter Wine Awards. In 2023, their White From Black (2018 vintage) won Gold at the International Wine Challenge and four trophies, including Best Sparkling and Supreme Champion, at the Wine GB Awards. The 2020 White From Black was also a WineGB Awards 2024 Medal Winner.

The vineyard is a "Sustainable Vinegrower", actively exploring regenerative viticulture practices. This includes trials with cover crops to improve soil health and water retention, and the potential reintroduction of sheep for winter grazing and natural vineyard maintenance.

The Grange benefits from a purpose-built winery, completed in 2022, located just 75 metres from the vines. This allows for optimal handling of grapes from harvest to fermentation under the supervision of Head Winemaker, Harry Pickering.
