Visiting information

Open Days: Stonyfield Wine hosts regular open days on the second Sunday of each month, and additionally on every Sunday from 6th July to 17th August, from 11 am to 4 pm. No prior booking is required for these open days – visitors can simply turn up.Tours & Tastings: Free guided vineyard tours and tastings of their sparkling wine are offered during open days. For those looking to spend the afternoon, cheese platters paired with wine are available on summer Sundays.

Private Visits & Events: Private group tours can be arranged by booking in advance. The vineyard is also available for hosting private events in its garden overlooking the vines.
Children & Dogs: Children and dogs are welcome at the vineyard.

The Wine

Stonyfield Wine, produced at Painters Vineyard, specializes exclusively in English Sparkling Wine. They craft both white and rosé sparkling wines using the traditional Champagne method, employing Pinot Noir and Seyval Blanc grape varieties.

The vineyard has garnered numerous accolades for its wines. All of Stonyfield's available wines have won national medals between 2021 and 2025. Notable achievements include securing a National Trophy in 2025, marking the second time they have won this prestigious award. In 2021, they received the Best Sparkling Blend Trophy and a Gold Medal from WineGB. Their wines were "Recommended" by Decanter Magazine in 2020, the same year they won a Gold Medal and Artisan Drink of the Year at the Weetabix Food and Wine Awards. More recently, they achieved Silver awards for both their Rosé and White Sparkling Wines at the IEWA in 2023, and a Silver award for their new 2019 Rosé in 2024. Their 2013 Rosé was rated 90/100 by Decanter Magazine in 2016.

Stonyfield Wine operates its own winery on-site, managing the entire winemaking process from grape to bottle.
