The Wine
St Martin's Vineyard cultivates grapes on south-facing slopes, just a short distance from the sea, producing still white, red, and rosé wines. Grape varieties grown include Seyval Blanc, Orion, Rondo, Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay, Madeleine Angevine, Reichensteiner, Regent, Siegerrebe, Black Hamburg, Triomph d'Alsace, and Schonburger. All wines are produced and bottled in their on-site winery, which was converted from a historic barn in 2003, ensuring a true "grape to glass" experience within their five-acre site. Beyond wine, the vineyard also produces sparkling cider and unique nano-batch beers. The vineyard is committed to sustainability, employing regenerative agriculture practices since 2020 by eliminating artificial inputs like pesticides, herbicides, and artificial fertilizers. They utilize their own compost, seaweed mulches, and zero-till methods to promote soil health and biodiversity. St Martin's Vineyard has also achieved fossil-fuel free management since autumn 2022 and generates approximately 75% of its power from renewable sources during the summer season through an installed solar array and battery storage.
