What you’ll take away from Setley Ridge isn’t really the wine - it’s Paul. The owner has a pocketful of stories about jumping into vineyard life with no experience, and delivers them with enough charm and humour to keep a whole group hooked.
The tour itself skims over the technical detail - this is a tour that is more about atmosphere than viticulture. There’s a café, garden centre and farm shop on site, which is the only place you'll find their wine stocked on shelves.
At under £20, it’s one of the cheaper ways to dip a toe into England’s family-run vineyards.

Tours & Tastings: Vineyard tours, which include a walk, talk, and wine tasting, are available by pre-booked appointment, typically during the summer months. Free wine tasting is available daily in the farm shop.
Opening Hours: The farm shop sells Setley Ridge wine and is open daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday to Saturday, and 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Sundays. The garden centre also operates daily.
Dining: The Daisy Tea Garden (also referred to as Rosie Lea's Kitchen) on site offers breakfast, lunch, homemade cakes, coffee, and tea.
Events: Setley Ridge hosts a variety of events and functions, including harvest celebrations.
Accommodation: A Camping and Caravanning Club certificated site is available for members, offering an adults-only, no-pets environment among the vines.
Accessibility: Dogs are permitted on vineyard tours but must be kept on a lead and cannot enter the winery. The campsite is an adults-only site and does not permit pets.

Setley Ridge Vineyard produces a range of still red, white, and rosé wines, along with occasional limited-production sparkling wines. They cultivate grape varieties such as Seyval, Schonburger, and Reichensteiner for their white wines, and Regent, Rondo, and Triomphe for their reds. All of the wines crafted at Setley Ridge are vegan. The vineyard boasts its own on-site winery, where the entire winemaking process, from grape to bottle, is completed. The team is committed to environmentally sensitive practices, fostering a rich diversity of flora and fauna within the vineyard. While their wines are enjoyed by many, no specific major awards or certifications (such as organic or regenerative) were found in the available information.
