It's a picturesque, family-run boutique vineyard that provides a relaxed setting to enjoy award-winning English wines and local platters, often accompanied by wildlife sightings.

Visiting information

Opening Hours: Drop-in visits are welcome Thursday to Saturday, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Tours & Tastings: Guided vineyard tours run from May to September on Fridays and Saturdays at 11:00 AM. Tours must be pre-booked (minimum of two people per booking) and last approximately 60 minutes, followed by a tasting of four award-winning still wines.
Refreshments: Enjoy cheese and vineyard sharing platters, sandwiches, soft drinks, tea, and coffee on site.
Accessibility: Note that the vineyard terrain is on a slope and may be unsuitable for those with limited mobility.
Dogs & Children: Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome on the premises, but are not permitted in the vineyard itself during tours. Wine tasting is an adult-only experience for those aged 18 and over.

The Wine

Lily Farm Vineyard specializes in award-winning English sparkling and still wines, made exclusively from grapes grown and hand-picked on their estate. Their range includes white wines such as Bacchus and Coastal Dry, a Rosé called Sunset Pink, and red wines like Jurassic Red. The principal grape varieties cultivated on site are Rondo, Pinot Noir Précoce, Bacchus, Seyval Blanc, and Reichensteiner.

The vineyard has consistently produced acclaimed wines since its first vintage in 2007, earning numerous awards. Recent accolades include a Wine GB Gold for their Bacchus 2021 in 2022, a Silver for Bacchus 2022 in 2023, and a medal for their Jurassic Red 2022 at the WineGB Awards in 2024.

The vineyard practices attentive viticulture, working in harmony with nature; the site is known as a "magnet for wildlife" with a variety of birds frequently observed amongst the vines.

While the grapes are grown and hand-picked at Lily Farm, the winemaking process is carried out by their winemaker, Steve Brooksbank, at Bagborough Winery, an off-site facility.

By Car: Lily Farm Vineyard is located on Dalditch Lane, Knowle, Budleigh Salterton, Devon EX9 7AH. It is signposted from the Old Railway Bridge over Dalditch Lane.
