The Wine

Fox & Fox Mayfield specializes in crafting award-winning English sparkling wines, focusing on limited quantities and exceptional quality. They exclusively use grapes grown on their own vineyards, spanning two sites in Mayfield, East Sussex. The vineyards cultivate classic Champagne grape varieties including Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay, and Pinot Gris, utilizing a blend of Burgundian and Champagne clones selected to thrive in the High Weald terroir.

In their winery, Fox & Fox employs a traditional approach with minimal manipulation and intervention, aiming to produce wines that genuinely reflect their vintage and the cool climate of East Sussex. This commitment ensures that each wine speaks of its origin and unique character.

The vineyard has garnered significant critical acclaim, winning numerous Gold and Platinum medals in national and international wine competitions. Notable accolades include a Platinum Medal with 97 points for their Tradition Brut Blanc De Noirs 2014 at the Decanter World Wine Awards in 2019. Their Meunier Brut 2014 received Gold from IWSC in 2018 and the IEWA in 2019. In 2020, they earned three Gold medals at the Sommelier Wine Awards for their Chairman's Vat Brut 2014, Mosaic Rosé Brut 2015, and Meunier Blanc de Noirs Brut 2014. Fox & Fox also won the World's Finest Glass of Bubbly trophy at the Glass of Bubbly Awards in 2021 for their 2015 Brut English Sparkling Wine.
