The Wine

Dunesforde Vineyard, established in 2016, cultivates 6,000 to 6,500 vines across four acres in the Vale of York, making it one of the UK's most northerly commercial vineyards. The vineyard focuses on cool-climate grape varieties suitable for its location, including Bacchus, Solaris, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Noir Précoce. From these grapes, Dunesforde produces a range of still white wines, a still red, and both sparkling white and rosé wines. Notable wines include their Still Pinot Gris and the "Queen of the North" Classic Cuvée.

Dunesforde Vineyard has quickly gained recognition for its quality wines, accumulating a significant number of awards since releasing its first wines in 2019.
The Dunesforde Still Pinot Gris 2022 received the prestigious UK's Best Single Varietal White Wine (Tom Day Trophy) at the WineGB Awards 2024, along with a Gold Medal and the 'Best Wine for Midlands and North' award.
The Queen of the North Classic Cuvée 2020 secured a Silver Medal at the WineGB Awards 2025 and a Bronze Medal at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2025. The Queen of the North also won the 2022 WineGB Trophy for the Midlands and the North.
Other accolades include a Silver Medal for the Dunesforde Sparkling Pinot Gris 2020 at the International Wine Challenge (IWC) 2024, and Gold and Silver medals for the Blanc de Noir 2018 and Solaris 2020, respectively, at the Independent English Wine Awards (IEWA) 2021.

While the vineyard works in harmony with its local environment to produce high-quality fruit, specific certifications for organic or regenerative viticulture are not mentioned.

Dunesforde Vineyard collaborates with partners, such as Halfpenny Green Wine Estate, for its winemaking processes. The family has future plans to expand production and establish their own on-site winery.
