The Wine
Birchden Vineyards focuses on producing limited-edition, exclusive wines from Pinot Noir, Bacchus, and Pinot Gris grapes grown across their six acres of vines. Their core range includes a traditional method sparkling Rosé Pinot Noir called 'The Charmed Finch', a still Bacchus known as 'The Gregarious Goose', and a still Rosé Pinot Noir, 'The Foxy Vixen'. They also produce a Blanc de Noirs, with 'The Charmed Finch BdN 2021' having won awards. The vineyard is committed to responsible and sustainable farming, working in harmony with nature and the local community. Their environmental stewardship is evident through features like an orchard, beehives, a wildflower field, a lake teeming with wildfowl, and diverse wildlife habitats.
While the grapes are meticulously tended on site by their 'Vineyard Vixens' team, the winemaking process itself is carried out off-site by master winemaker Ben Smith at Itasca.
